About MEHL

Murphy Environmental Hollywood Ltd. holds a Waste Licence (Number W0129-02) from the Environmental Protection Agency for an inert landfill. The facility is located at Hollywood Great, Nag's Head, Naul, Co. Dublin.

Murphy Concrete Manufacturing Ltd. (MCM) began quarrying at the Hollywood facility in 1975. In 2003 Murphy Environmental was established as a trading division of MCM Ltd., to serve as the waste management division of the company. The sale of aggregate product on a commercial basis from Murphy Concrete Manufacturing Ltd. at the Hollywood facility ceased at the end of 2007. After the cessation of the sales of aggregate products it was decided by senior management to set up a separate legal entity to manage the remaining infill activity at the Hollywood facility. In October 2008 Murphy Environmental Hollywood Ltd. (MEHL) was established to manage the remaining landfill activity at the Hollywood facility. MEHL is responsible for all aspects of the management and operation of the landfill and compliance with the Waste Licence. The focus of operations will now remain on the full and complete restoration of the site to pre-quarrying levels, in accordance with the conditions of planning and our EPA Waste Licence.
